Accu Dyne Test Pens Set – 30–60 Dynes (Full Range)
This 16-level full range set covers standard dyne increments from 30 through 60 dynes/cm, providing versatile surface energy verification for treated and untreated plastic films, coatings, and laminates. Formulated with 100% reagent-grade solutions, these pens are designed for fast, accurate on-line testing in printing, coating, laminating, and converting operations.
Manufactured in the USA and prepared for controlled industrial use, each pen includes visible lot identification and expiration dating to support documented quality control systems.
Fresh formulation ensures measurement stability and consistency when verifying corona-treated films and non-porous substrates.
Same-day dispatch from Florida with fast U.S. shipping available.
The Accu Dyne Full Range 30–60 Dynes Test Pen Set is designed for versatile surface energy verification across treated and untreated films, coatings, laminates, and polymer-based substrates. Covering 16 standard dyne levels from 30 through 60 dynes/cm, this set provides expanded industrial coverage beyond routine untreated materials while maintaining precise control for production environments.
These marker pens utilize reagent-grade dyne testing fluids and a spring-loaded valve tip applicator that prevents contamination and ensures consistent fluid delivery. By pressing the tip firmly onto the substrate, fresh testing fluid is dispensed, effectively renewing the tip and supporting accurate dyne level determination during in-line or laboratory testing.
Results are determined by observing whether the test fluid forms a continuous film or retracts into droplets. If the fluid remains as a film for approximately three seconds, the substrate surface energy meets or exceeds the dyne level of the pen. If the fluid beads quickly, the surface energy is below that level. Testing progressively with higher or lower dyne levels allows for precise surface energy identification.
• 16 standard dyne levels from 30 to 60 dynes/cm
• Ideal for treated and untreated films in printing, coating, and laminating operations
• Supports in-line production verification and industrial process control
• Spring-loaded valve tip prevents contamination and meters fluid flow
• Suitable for laboratory, R&D, and production floor applications
• Capable of performing hundreds of tests per marker
• Compatible with smooth, non-absorptive substrates
• Six-month shelf life under proper storage conditions
• Packaged in ready-to-use industrial setup boxes
The 30–60 Dynes Full Range set is recommended for facilities that work with both untreated substrates and corona-treated films, requiring broader verification capability than basic routine testing. It offers balanced coverage for flexible packaging converters, coating lines, and laminating operations where surface energy levels may vary across production runs.
For applications requiring verification above 60 dynes, consider the 30–72 Extended Range set. For routine untreated film testing up to 52 dynes, the 30–52 Core Range may be sufficient.
Each Accu Dyne Test Pen includes visible lot identification and expiration dating at the unit level. This allows production teams to record both dyne level and batch information during surface verification procedures. Lot traceability supports documented quality control systems and structured investigation processes in ISO-based environments.
These pens are designed for use in surface energy measurement procedures consistent with ISO 8296 and ASTM D2578 methodologies.
Surface energy testing determines the wettability of polymer-based substrates and is critical for ensuring proper adhesion of inks, coatings, adhesives, and laminates. Low surface energy materials such as polyethylene and polypropylene often require corona or plasma treatment to improve adhesion performance.
When the Accu Dyne Test Pen is applied to a surface, the fluid will either form a continuous film or retract into droplets. A continuous film for approximately three seconds indicates that the surface energy is equal to or greater than the dyne level of the pen used. Rapid beading indicates insufficient surface energy.
Accurate surface verification supports consistent adhesion performance and reduces the risk of downstream bonding failures in production.
